By Heart Words

This week I introduced the last component of our Daily 5, Word Work.  During this time students will be practicing "by heart" words, which are words that they should be able to read and spell by heart with out having to think about it.  We are learning all sorts of fun ways to practice these such as; using wikki stix, white boards, rainbow writing and chalk just to name a few.  Each week I will introduce ten new words and add them to our "by heart" poster.  At the end of each week we will then add them to our classroom word wall. Tomorrow we are going to practice them with Legos!
