Listen to Reading

What a gorgeous fall day!  This week we added listen to reading to our Daily 5.  During this time students listen to stories with a buddy on a site called Tumblebooks. It is a great site that has lots of books for the children to choose from.  I will put the login information in your child's folder next week so you can access it from home.  We have also been focusing on friendship this week.  What does it mean to be a good friend?  What do you do when you have a disagreement with a friend?  We will continue this conversation next week as well.  We started a weekly tradition today...Board Game Friday!  Every Friday we will play board games together. Playing board games allows students to apply the skills they have been learning in math and apply it to a real life situation, as well as work on some key social skills (cooperation, empathy, sportsmanship, turn taking just to name a few)!  We ended the day playing outside with our big buddies!  Have a great weekend!
