The kids got a first look at their published books!  They were so excited to share them with their friends.  This week in math we have started to work with subtraction word problems. We have been learning different math strategies to figure out problems just like in reading when we come to a puzzling word!  Here are some that we have discovered so far:
counting on
counting up
counting down
using math tools
draw a picture of the problem
using our knowledge of grouping
Math word/story problems are a great to practice at dinner.  Crosse has nine peas on his plate.  He ate five.  How many does he have left?  Maybe it will even get them to eat their vegetables!
