Be on the look out for caterpillars!

We will begin the year studying insects, and in particular the metamorphosis of the Monarch. We would like to gather Monarch caterpillars to watch this amazing transformation. You need to look on the underside of milkweed leaves. Leaves with bites out of them or little holes in the middle may be a sign that a caterpillar is there. They can be very tiny so look carefully. Keep them in a container with milkweed leaves for them to munch on, and holes on the top so they can breath. Also if you come across any dead insects please send them in a container and we will be able to pin them to our entomology board! Happy hunting!
