ECO

I know we always say this but it was another fabulous day for ECO. What we thought was going to be a stormy day turned out to be a beautiful day in the woods. Today we focused on nest building. We started in the classroom watching some videos of how other birds build nests then headed outside. Before our nest building began children worked together to roll logs down to our meeting spot to use as stools (thanks to Paul Cate for cutting them for us).

Children chose between working on our eagle nest or making their own nests out of materials we have gathered from nature. We made mud to pack the nests together (or to give themselves a mud bath :) ). We took a break for lunch and then returned to the forest until mid afternoon. Before we left the forest we went around and admired the nests that our classmates made.
