Birds of Vermont Museum

What a fantastic day we had! The weather started off a little chilly, but no worries because we were inside the bird museum observing all the amazing wood carved birds.  The children really enjoyed going around trying to find the bird they were studying.  They also had a viewing window where you could see birds in action.  We saw a number of bluejays, a morning dove, grackle, ruby throated hummingbird, robin and a wild turkey.  After lunch the sun came out and we headed over the Audubon where they had a fun afternoon planned for us.  We practiced our skills identifying bird calls, used binoculars and went bird watching, went on a bird scavenger hunt, observed some real eggs and nests and then had a chance to make our own nest!  What a fantastic day!  A special thanks to the family members who were able to accompany us on this wonderful trip! ( You may notice that many of the pictures from the Audubon were of one class, that is because we split into two groups and i was the one with the camera)
